Progressions
The first of our in-person classes is about getting you stronger for longer. We use a variety of movements to start building a stronger body.
Each term we focus on building either Strength or Endurance. By manipulating the weights/reps we use, we can evoke changes in the attribute we are currently working towards. After systematically cycling our focus over time, you will be able to lift heavier weights for longer.
Rather than completely switching routines every time we train we will follow a similar programme for a term (5 to 7 weeks). This lets you grasp particular movements and lets us slowly increase Reps/Weights/Difficulty throughout the term.
Each Session/Term is carefully planned to lead on from the next. We tried to make progress as easy as possible.
Athlete
Once we’ve started to get strong it's time to start getting fast! Our Athlete class is designed to help improve your explosive power and athletic abilities.
Although slightly more advanced than our other classes, Athlete is still for everyone! All exercises are adjustable, allowing us to find the perfect level for you. Exercises are progressed through a term (much like progressions) making it easier to get used to new movement patterns.
This class starts to bring in more advanced movements like Kettlebell Swings and Cleans. We also break down some techniques around running, jumping and throwing.
By managing your intensity, you can make this class as difficult as you want i.e. you start the term only putting 30% effort into each jump, and you end the term putting 90% effort into each jump!
